WOODLAWN — A 19-year-old man was shot in his back in the Woodlawn neighborhood Tuesday night, police said.

Just after 8 p.m., the man was arguing with someone in the 1400 block of East 66th Place when the other person pulled out a gun and shot at him, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Pacheco said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, Pacheco said.
