BRONZEVILLE — Police are warning Bronzeville residents of a pair of robberies in the neighborhood earlier this month.

In both incidents, two or three young men walked up to people, pulled out a handgun and robbed them before jumping into a gray Toyota Corolla and driving off, according to a Sunday community alert.

The first robbery was reported in the 900 block of East 53rd Street around 10:40 p.m. March 19, police said.

The second robbery occurred in the 400 block of East Bowen Avenue around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Police described the robbers as black men between 18 and 21 years old, standing between 5-foot-9 and 6 foot, and weighing between 145-170 pounds.

Anyone with information on the robberies or the suspects is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8380.
