BACK OF THE YARDS — Police are asking Back of the Yards residents to be on the lookout after a string of robberies were reported around the neighborhood in recent weeks.

In each case one or two men walked up to people and robbed them, police said, The incidents occurred:

• At 8:35 p.m. March 17 in the 4900 block of Marshfield Avenue

• At 1:25 a.m. March 19 in the 5400 block of South Ashland Avenue

• At 6:45 a.m. Friday in the 5400 block of South Damen Avenue

Police described the suspects as black men in their 20s or early 30s, standing between 5-foot-8 and 6 foot and weighing 165-185 pounds.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8382.
