ENGLEWOOD — Four men were shot, one fatally, within a four-hour period in the Englewood neighborhood Saturday afternoon, police said.
Cordero Mosley, 27, was gunned down around 2:10 p.m. Saturday. He was one of two men who were standing on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Paulina Street when two other men wearing black hoodies walked up and shot at them before fleeing, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
Mosley, of the 6700 block of South Wood Street, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital after being shot seven times, Estrada said. He was later pronounced dead. Police said the man had no known gang affiliation but had a "lengthy arrest record."
The other man, 28, was treated on scene for a graze wound in his head, Estrada said.
Police said the man is a documented gang member.
About 10 minutes earlier, Estrada said, a 23-year-old man was walking on the other side of the neighborhood, in the 6900 block of South Normal Avenue, when he heard gunshots and felt pain.
The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, Estrada said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."
Most recently, around 5:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon, a 19-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 6700 block of South Wolcott Avenue when someone ran up and shot at him before running off, Estrada said.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his right leg, Estrada said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."
Police said the man is a documented gang member.
