CHICAGO — A man and woman from Brighton Park have been charged with a shooting in the neighborhood, according to police.

Graciela Herrera, 24, and Asusena Robles, 21, were driving in the 4000 block of South Kedizie Avenue at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday when a third person got out of the car and fired shots at another car before getting back in and driving off, police said in a news release.

The third person, who has not been arrested yet, shot a 23-year-old man, police said. Herrera was driving the car the shooter was in, police said.

The shooting victim and a 21-year-old woman fled the scene in a car and were chased by Herrera's car, police said.

Her car crashed in the 1500 block of South California and the shooter ran off, according to police.

Robles, of the 2800 block of West 40th Street, was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Herrera, of the 4600 block of South Francisco Avenue, was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries after the crash. She was later arrested and also charged with aggravated assault.
