PORTAGE PARK — Volunteers are needed to help spruce up the Six Corners Shopping District and celebrate two new murals and four new bike corrals.

From 9-2 p.m. April 2 volunteers will pick up trash, remove graffiti and report potholes, said organizers with the Six Corners Association.

Participants should meet at 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave., wear old clothes and bring work gloves, organizers said.

The murals — created by Arts Alive Chicago — and the bike corrals — paid for by a successful online fundraising campaign — will be dedicated in a ceremony set for 1:30 p.m. at Cuyler and Milwaukee avenues, organizers said.

Athletico will offer refreshments for volunteers from 9 a.m. to noon at 4080 N. Milwaukee Ave., organizers said.

Reservations are requested. Teens and families are invited to participate, organizers said.
