EDGEWATER — Work is underway at the highly-anticipated wine bar coming to North Broadway this summer headed by Nelson Fitch, husband of "Divergent" series author Veronica Roth, and Collin Moody, a coffee and booze aficionado.

On Friday, the owners got a $150,000 permit to redo the interior of the building at 5959 N. Broadway, including setting up a new configuration that will span two storefronts, as well as all new electrical, plumbing and mechanical work, city records show.

Paragon Homes Inc., a Hinsdale-based company that specializes in custom remodeling, and Scott R. Becker of Partners By Design, are tapped as the general contractor and architect, respectively.

A photo posted on the bar's Instagram account shows a blueprint of its interior, including Broadway-facing "entry dining" seats, a private dining area, a large bar on the left and a main eating area to the right.

A note on their website promises the bar is "working hard to get this place open by 2016."

Fitch told DNAinfo in August the bar will specialize in lesser-known spirits, high-end cocktails, fine wine and a "pretty epic brandy list," tastes he acquired while working for next door neighbor Independent Spirits Inc.

The wine bar, called Income Tax Wine Bar, will also serve food, suggest pairings and maintain a casual atmosphere so the less-than-sommelier-level fan of wine won't feel out of place, he said.

Moody, a Texas-to-Chicago transplant, has worked with coffee throughout the city, most notably as store manager at Intelligentsia's Wicker Park location that opened its coffeebar (coffee and beer) in 2014.

In the fall, Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) announced his support for the plan and helped lead the way for a liquor moratorium to be lifted so the business could proceed with its plans.
