ENGLEWOOD — Teamwork Englewood received a $5,000 community development grant from PNC Bank.

The grant will help bring and fund PNC Bank's "Foundation of Money Management" program, which is an educational finance program for those without a bank account. Teamwork Englewood is targeting residents in the community.

“PNC is proud to collaborate with Teamwork Englewood on such an important financial education initiative," said PNC Vice President Paul A. Labonne in a news release. "Teaching our young people how to budget, save and use credit wisely is extremely important in helping them make wise choices now and in the future.”

Executive director Perry Gunn said the grant will help "Englewood families who are banked." He's especially eager to reach young people.

"We will teach them to become more proficient at utilizing online financial education tools, which will help strengthen the overall financial capabilities of families," he said. "This programming will help the Englewood residents enter and stay within the financial services mainstream, becoming less a victim of predatory scams.”
