CHICAGO — Weekend shootings throughout the city left 29 people wounded and five dead, including a 16-year-old boy, police said.

Most of the deadly shootings happened Friday night into Saturday morning, when 13 people were injured and four killed in shootings.

The gunfire resumed Saturday, when 10 people were wounded throughout the day, and continued Sunday.

On Sunday, 16-year-old Andre Taylor was shot dead outside his grandfather's Roseland home. Andre was a star athlete at Percy Julian High School and had just walked his girlfriend to the bus when he was gunned down, neighbors and family members said.

Another 16-year-old who was shot Sunday survived the ordeal. The teen was shot in his leg in the 5400 block of South Bishop Street, police said. He was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition.

At 3:27 p.m. Sunday, an apparently accidental shooting left an 18-year-old man wounded in the 7000 block of South Eberhart Avenue. Police said the gun was being passed around when it went off, hitting the man in his right arm. The wounded man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition and a 19 year old is in custody.

Just 15 minutes later, a 27-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were standing in the 9600 block of South Brennan Avenue when a masked man shot at them out of a passing car, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Sedevic said, where she was listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds in her chest and stomach.

The wounded woman was pregnant, according to a witness.

At 10:30 p.m. Sunday a 57-year-old man was walking near an alley in the 7000 block of South Maplewood Avenue when a man pulled out a gun and attempted to rob him, police said. A struggle ensued and the victim was shot in his hand. He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Aside from the accidental shooting on Eberhart, no one is in custody for any of the weekend shootings.
