NORTH CENTER — Iceland is rolling out the welcome mat for Chicagoans.

In a bid to boost tourism, the land of Bjork will be wining and dining Chicagoans during Taste of Iceland, March 17-20, including a free concert at Martyrs'.

"Reykjavik Calling" will showcase musical acts from Iceland and Chicago, 8-11:30 p.m., March 18, 3855 N. Lincoln Ave. Admission is first come, first served.

The Icelandic acts set to appear include Axel Flovent, an indie/folk singer up for newcomer of the year in his home country; CeaseTone, which bills its style as "big worlds of sound"; and Beebee and the bluebirds, who are so new to the international stage, they haven't translated any of their info into English.
