ENGELWOOD — Free workshops on business and entrepreneurship development, plus art demonstrations for children will all take place March 13 at the Englewood Enterprise Gallery.

The gallery is holding its monthly empowerment open house from noon-4 p.m. at 7039 S. Wentworth Ave. Register by clicking here.

There will also be an art exhibition featuring works from the "Nicole Gallery." The local artist is known for her African and African-American art. She has contributed to the Chicago art scene for years.

The event will offer participants workshops and lectures related to business and entrepreneurship development. There will be plenty of networking for artists and even activities for children, including a youth talent showcase.

The gallery's owner, Nuri Madina II, has also started a GoFundMe page to raise $5,000. He wants to provide free classes to the young people in the community. Madina would like to offer classes such as sewing, T-shirt making and business development.

"We have a schedule of workshops that we would love to begin, where we can teach the youth creative work projects," he said, "and then teach the economics related to each product."

To donate, visit the GoFundMe by clicking here.
