Auburn Gresham Shooting Kills Man, Wounds Woman As They Sit in Car

CHICAGO — A shooting in Auburn Gresham left a man dead and a woman wounded on Saturday afternoon, police said.

At 3:47 p.m., the man and woman were sitting inside a car in the 900 block of West 85th Street when someone walked up and fired shots at the car, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man, 26, was shot in his head and pronounced dead at the scene, Sedevic said.

The man was identified as Eric D. Henry Jr., of Calumet City, in Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Henry was pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m. of multiple gunshot wounds.

The woman, 24, was shot in her jaw and leg, Sedevic said. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and was in serious condition.

No one was in custody.
