CHICAGO — It'll feel like it's below zero when you head outside Thursday ... and that cold will stay put for the weekend.

Though Chicago usually sees highs of 34 and lows of 19 degrees at this time of the year, Thursday will only see temperatures as high as 20 degrees, said Paul Walker, a meteorologist for AccuWeather. That will fall to a low of 13 degrees, though chilly winds will make it feel like it's below zero outside, Walker said.

The weekend isn't much better: Friday will see snow flurries and a high of 23 degrees, but it'll feel like temperatures are in the single digits, Walker said. The night will see a low of zero degrees.

Saturday's high will be just 14 degrees and it'll hit a low of 4 degrees at night, Walker said, and Sunday will see a high of 23 degrees — but also one to two inches of snow.

Once the city gets past that, the weather is expected be warmer. Monday will be "back up to the freezing mark," Walker said.

The weather "looks like it's relaxing as we go into early next week," Walker said. "It won't be this extreme cold."
