CHICAGO — A man was seriously wounded early Thursday while being robbed in Austin, police said.
At 2:42 a.m., the 26-year-old man was in the 200 block of South Lockwood Avenue when a man walked up to him and said he was robbing him, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The robber shot the man in the abdomen, she said.
The man was driven to West Suburban Hospital and then transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Trainor said.
No one was in custody.
