Englewood Shooting Kills 35-Year-Old Man, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 35-year-old man was fatally shot in Englewood on Monday morning, police said.

At 9:50 a.m., the man was driving near 69th Street and Marshfield Avenue when someone shot him multiple times, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man drove away from the shooting and his car stopped near 69th and Paulina streets.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and pronounced dead, Pacheco said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as James Lewis, of the 6600 block of South Winchester Avenue. Lewis was pronounced dead at 11:58 a.m.

No one was in custody.
