LINCOLN SQUARE — Think outside the hearts-and-flowers box this Valentine's Day, with some non-traditional ways to celebrate the holiday in the neighborhood.

• Why trust your feelings to Hallmark? Make your own Valentine's card at Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, 4912 N. Western Ave. There will be treats and sweets.

• If you're in love with a whiskey lover, take him or her on a tour of Koval Distillery, 5121 N. Ravenswood Ave. Tours are already sold out on Feb. 14, but there are still openings on Feb. 13, at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Click here to sign up.

• If you're in love with a chocolate lover, skip the mass-produced stuff and pick up a box of handmade truffles from Amy's Candy Bar, in collaboration with Savory Spice Shop. Flavors include saffron honey, amaretto, hibiscus, pomegranate molasses, salted caramel, chai spice caramel and cinnamon. Cost is $13.95, available for purchase at Amy's, 4704 N. Damen Ave., or Savory Spice, 4753 N. Lincoln Ave.

• Treat your partner and yourself to a couples massage workshop at Bloom Yoga, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Feb. 14, 4663 N. Rockwell St. Cost is $80 per couple, or $70 for those who register three days in advance. Click here for more information.

• Here's a sweet deal, literally: Check out Flirty Cupcake's couples BYOB cupcake decorating class, 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., Feb. 14, 4631 N. Lincoln Ave. Learn a bunch of decorating techniques and take home four cupcakes each, all for $40 per couple. To sign up, email flirtycupcakes@gmail.com or call 312-852-4441.

• Enjoy a champagne and chocolate tasting, with a slapstick comedy on the side at Windy City Playhouse, 3014 W. Irving Park Road. Tickets are $40 or $60 per person (depending on choice of seating) and include the tasting plus a matinee performance of "The Explorers Club," penned by the Tony Award-nominated composer of Broadway's "Legally Blonde." The tasting starts and 2 p.m. and the show begins at 3 p.m., Feb. 14. Click here for tickets.
