Weekend Street Closures for Netfix's 'Sense 8' Filming on North Side

CHICAGO — The Neflix series "Sense 8," created by the Wachowski siblings of "The Matrix" fame, will be filming in the Ravenswood/Andersonville neighborhoods this weekend, with normal residential parking prohibited on a few blocks.

Ald. Patrick O'Connor (40th) told residents in an email Thursday that Unpronounceable Productions LLC had gained permits to film the show Saturday and Sunday.

While some streets will only be closed during certain hours, others will be closed the majority of the weekend.

Streets will be blocked off as follows:

6-11 p.m. Saturday:

• Full street closure — Paulina Street from Balmoral Avenue to Catalpa Avenue

• Intermittent traffic control — Rascher Avenue from Ravenswood Avenue to Ashland Avenue, and Balmoral Avenue from Ravenswood Avenue to Ashland Avenue.

No parking from 9 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday:

• Both sides of Paulina Street from Balmoral Avenue to Catalpa Avenue

• Both sides of Rascher Avenue from Ravenswood Avenue to Ashland Avenue

• Both sides of Balmoral Avenue from Ravenswood Avenue to 1620 W. Balmoral Ave.

• Both sides of Ravenswood Avenue from 5630 N. Ravenswood Ave. to 5720 N. Ravenswood Ave.
