Free Admission to Downtown Museums on Martin Luther King Day

DOWNTOWN — Admission to three of Chicago's best-known museums will be free to Illinois residents on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 

Free general admission will last until 4 p.m. Jan. 18 at Adler Planetarium, 5 p.m. at the Field Museum, and until 6 p.m. that day at Shedd Aquarium. The Field and Shedd open at 9 a.m., and Adler opens at 9:30 a.m. 

Discounted all-access packages will also be available to Illinois residents Jan. 18 at the three museums. The discounts are:

• Adler All-Access Pass: $17.95 for adults, $16.95 for children.
• Field All-Access Pass: $20 for adults; $17 for seniors and students, $14 for children.
• Shedd Total Experience Pass: $31.95 for adults; $24.95 for children.

All three institutions are in the city's "Museum Campus" off South Lake Shore Drive.
