NEAR WEST SIDE — A woman was beaten and robbed of her shoes in an attack Tuesday night in the Illinois Medical District, officials said.
At 10:10 p.m., the woman was near the corner of Roosevelt Road and Paulina Street, the University of Illinois at Chicago Police said in a crime alert. A car drove up to her with "four passengers who attempted to speak with her," the alert said.
She didn't answer — and was attacked.
"When she did not reply, four male offenders exited the vehicles, battered her and stole her shoes," police said.
The car fled westbound on Roosevelt Road. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for unspecified injuries.
No arrests were reported.
