WICKER PARK — It may be less than a week before super-loaded grilled cheese sandwiches make their way to Wicker Park, Cheesie's Pub & Grub owner Chris Johnston told DNAinfo Wednesday.
Johnston is still waiting for the eatery's liquor license to clear, but in the mean time, he said, Cheesie's should be ready to start serving sandwiches like its signature "tenderizer" by "next Tuesday or Wednesday."
Last December Johnston released details on his plan to open the city's second Cheesie's location alongside a whiskey-and-poutine bar called "Whiskey Business" at 1365 and 1357 N. Milwaukee Ave., respectively.
The Wicker Park Cheesie's will be the restaurant's third Chicago-area location, joining branches in Lakeview and suburban Evanston.
Whiskey Business, Johnston said, will likely open in January.
