LINCOLN PARK — It missed the Christmastime sugar rush, but Nothing Bundt Cakes landed at 1953 N. Clybourn Ave. in time to bring Lincoln Parkers a sweeter 2016.

The Texas-based franchise marked its first foray into Chicago's dessert world Sunday, opening its 152nd bakery specializing in the circular confection.

Lincoln Park is the chain's first urban location, it said. There are shops in suburban LaGrange, Elmhurst and Mount Prospect.

Nothing Bundt Cakes will offer everything from single-serving "bundtlets," costing around $5, to 30-serving multitiered cakes, which start around $70. There are 10 flavors, including carrot, pecan praline, white chocolate raspberry and a seasonal flavor.

The bakery will hold a grand opening on Jan. 15, with 20 percent of proceeds being directed toward cancer charity Imerman Angels.

Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in 1997 in Las Vegas by friends Dena Tripp and Debby Shwetz.

“I have this great cream cheese and butter frosting recipe, and she had this great cake one,” Shwetz told the Wall Street Journal.
