LINCOLN SQUARE — The force is strong in Lincoln Square, where early screenings of the latest "Star Wars" flick are set for Thursday night at the Davis Theater.

Tickets are on sale for 8:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. showings of "The Force Awakens" and can be purchased in advance online or at the box office, 4614 N. Lincoln Ave. The movie has a 136-minute run time.

A $1 convenience charge will be added to online tickets bringing full-price adult admission to $10 — a far cry from the $10,000 some folks have been asking for their preordered tickets on eBay.

In July, Davis owner Tom Fencl announced plans for an ambitious makeover of the nearly 100-year-old theater, requiring a six-month closure.

Neighbors' first response — after "Cool!" — was "What about 'Star Wars?'"

Fear not, young padawans. Fencl was able to start work on two of the Davis' four screens in November while keeping the other pair open through the end of January.

As a certain Jedi master might say, "Perfect timing that was."
