ENGLEWOOD — A man was charged Tuesday in the weekend shooting death of a 26-year-old man in Englewood, police said.

Around 10 a.m. Sunday, Demarco Murray, 19, allegedly shot at the man mutliple times in the 7200 block of South May Street before fleeing in a car, police said.

The victim, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Andre D. Donner, Jr., of the 7000 block of South Lowe Avenue, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said. He was later pronounced dead.

Officers pursued Murray's getaway car and pulled him over, according to the Tuesday police announcement.

Another suspect was arrested and later released without being charged, police said.

Murray, of the 6900 block of South Green Street, is set to appear in bond court Tuesday, where he will face a charge of first-degree murder.
