HUMBOLDT PARK — A 16-year-old boy was shot in his leg during a robbery on the West Side Sunday night, police said.

Around 10:30 p.m., the boy was walking on the sidewalk in the 4100 block of West Crystal Street when a man got out of a nearby black sedan, pointed a gun at him and tried to rob him, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man then reached into the boy's pocket and pulled out an "unknown amount of cash" before shooting him in his right leg and running off, Estrada said.

The boy was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Estrada said.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
