O'HARE — ChildServ, a child and family services non-profit organization, is hosting a holiday toy drive through Dec. 8.

The O'Hare-based charity hopes to grant holiday wishes for 1,000 children in Cook, Kane and Lake counties, officials said.

"The holiday season offers us a chance to have a positive impact on the children and young adults we serve,” ChildServ CEO Dan Kotowski said. “Our staff works every day to provide in-depth, community-based programs to people who are at-risk of long-term poverty and trauma. Delivering them presents during the holiday season is another meaningful way to provide them with a better life.”

New, unwrapped toys, games or books for children of all ages can be donated through Dec. 8, officials said.

Gift cards to stores such as Target or Amazon are also needed, officials said. All gifts can be dropped off or mailed to ChildServ's headquarters at 8765 W. Higgins Road, Suite 450, Chicago, IL 60631.
