LINCOLN SQUARE — The Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce has a simple message for residents this holiday season: Shop local and get cash back.
The chamber is once again timing the rollout of its "Unwrapped" incentive program with Black Friday to encourage people to keep their holiday dollars in the neighborhood.
Here's how it works:
Spend a total of $300 at local businesses (retailers, restaurants, salons, etc.) between Nov. 27 and Dec. 24, send copies of your receipts to the chamber, and get a $50 gift card in return.
A few caveats:
• You have to spread your love. Receipts must be from at least three businesses, with a minimum of $25 spent at each business.
• A maximum of $100 can be spent on groceries/liquor. Medications and memberships don't count toward the $300 total.
• Only one submission per person.
Receipts are due at the chamber's offices, 2611 W. Lawrence Ave., by Jan. 8. Submit with name, address (including ZIP code), phone number and email.
