DOWNTOWN — The next phase of southbound Lake Shore Drive work will close off an entryway to the Magnificent Mile.
The Michigan Avenue ramp off southbound Lake Shore Drive will be closed for repaving from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the city's department of transportation said. If necessary, the ramp may also be closed again from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The ramp's roadwork follows the complete repaving of the Lake Shore Drive S Curve along Oak Street Beach last week. The curve handles an average of 140,000 vehicles per day, the city said.
