AUBURN GRESHAM — Sisters Nurturing Sisters, Inc. will hold a dinner Saturday to raise funds for the expansion of transitional housing for disadvantaged women and children.

The nonprofit will host its 3rd Annual Fundraising Dinner at Salaam Restaurant, 700 W. 79th St. from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $30 and children under 11 are $15. They can be purchased online here.

The speakers this year are Farzana Motiwala-Moinuddin from the Muslim Women Alliance and Michael Holmes from the Illinois African-American Family Commission.

Since October 2014, the Sisters organization has assisted more than 60 women with temporary transitional housing. The goal this year is to raise $350,000. Funding will go to the expansion of the Interim Transitional Housing Program, establishing affordable permanent housing opportunities for women, and the growth and continuation of operations.
