BRIDGEPORT — Recently opened at the Bridgeport Art Center, the Chicago Ceramic Center is now offering an eight-week class for neighborhood folks interested in making pottery.

The class costs $255 and runs one day a week. Your choices are Mondays and Thursdays from 7-10 p.m. or Saturdays from 1-4 p.m.

The registration fee includes clay, tools, firing and open studio time on Saturdays.

Students will learn the basics of using a potter’s wheel, centering clay and making bowl forms. Once a pot is complete, students will learn how to make it pretty using professional glazing techniques.

The class is for students with no past experiences using a potter’s wheel.
