HYDE PARK — There’s a murder expected at a dinner party in South Chicago on Friday.

The South Chicago Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 1920s-themed murder-mystery dinner party at 6 p.m. at Power Circle Congregation, 9350 S. Chicago Ave., or the “Speakeasy” for the purposes of Friday night’s festivities.

Guests will need a password to get in, which can be divulged by calling the chamber at 773-768-1221 or e-mailing Lydia Gomez at lgomez@southchicagochamber.org for tickets, $30.

Guests are encouraged to dress in the style of the day (though not required) as they act as witnesses helping to solve a murder among the gangsters and flappers.

The evening isn’t all macabre with performances by Myron Mills Project Band, Red Hot Annie and Tango Che.
