LINCOLN SQUARE — Are you the Picasso of pumpkins, the Jasper Johns of Jack-o-lanterns?

Put your carving skills to the test during Gene's Sausage Shop's annual pumpkin contest.

Drop off your masterpieces at Gene's beginning Monday, 4750 N. Lincoln Ave. The cut off for entrants is 3 p.m. Thursday.

Prizes will be awarded to both adults and children in the categories of most creative and scariest pumpkins.

Winners will be announced during a rooftop party at Gene's, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday.

If you're in it to win it but are short on inspiration tons of websites have creative ideas but we're particularly fond of the roundup at Woman's Day, which provides a materials list and detailed carving instructions for the DIY-challenged.
