DUNNING — If canceled checks, credit card statements and love letters from the one that got away are taking up valuable space, you can stuff all of it in bags and watch it be destroyed at a free paper shredding and electronic recycling event set for Saturday.

Sponsored by Ald. Nicholas Sposato (38th), an electronic recycling and shred day will take place from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday in the parking lot of St. Priscilla Church, 6969 W. Addison St.

Paper clips, staples and other bindings should be removed from paper to be shredded, organizers said. Old electronics, batteries, inkjet cartridges, televisions, laptops and computers will be recycled in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
