Police Warn of Burglar Cutting Through Garage Doors

Six garages in Jefferson Park, Edison Park and Norwood Park have been burglarized in recent weeks by someone who cut a hole in the overhead door, police warned Thursday.

JEFFERSON PARK — Six garages in Jefferson Park, Edison Park and Norwood Park have been burglarized in recent weeks by someone who cut a hole in the overhead door, police warned Thursday.

The incidents happened in the:

• 4900 block of north McVicker Avenue between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 14

• 5200 block of north Meade Avenue between 6:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sept. 21

• 6100 block of north Melvina Avenue between 1 and 4 a.m. Sept. 22

• 7200 block of west Ibsen Street between 10:30 a.m. and noon Oct. 1

• 5800 block of north Marmora Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 1, 2015

• 5000 block of north Sayre Avenue at 9 a.m. Oct. 5

The alert marks the fourth time this month police warned about burglaries on the Far Northwest Side.
