CHICAGO — One man was killed and four other people were hurt in shootings around the city between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, police said.

The man, 41, was pronounced dead after being shot Wednesday afternoon in the chest in Humboldt Park, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

• Most recently, around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, a 47-year-old man was walking in the 300 block of West Swann Street in Fuller Park when two men walked up and asked him about his gang affiliation, Estrada said.

One of them then pulled out a gun and shot the man in the groin, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Estrada said.

• At 8:11 p.m., a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were both shot in the arm while in the 5000 block of West Division Street in Austin, Estrada said.

The 18-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Estrada said.

The 15-year-old was taken to West Suburban Hospital, Estrada said, where he was listed in good condition.

• Around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, a 25-year-old man was shot in the back and his arm in the 11700 block of South Harvard Avenue in West Pullman, Estrada said.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Estrada said, where his condition stabilized.
