CHICAGO LAWN — Police charged a Chicago Lawn man for an attempted robbery and shooting that occurred earlier this month, according to a Sunday news release.

On the afternoon of Sept. 7, 22-year-old Nemroy Murray Jr. allegedly pointed a gun at a 37-year-old man sitting in a car and demanded his property, police said. When the man tried to grab Murray's gun, it discharged and hit the man, grazing his chest.

Murray, of the 2500 block of West 71st Street, will face charges Sunday including one count of aggravated battery and one count of attempted robbery, police said.
