New Exhibit At McKinley Park Library To Celebrate Illinois Folk Arts

"Generation to Generation: Folk Arts of Illinois,” a traveling exhibit coming to the McKinley Park Library, will feature 10 panels telling the stories of local artists and musicians and highlighting art forms such as stone carving, the Irish fiddle, Mexican murals and the Irish accordion.

MCKINLEY PARK — The Chicago Public Library’s McKinley Park Branch will soon host a traveling art and story exhibit.  

"Generation to Generation: Folk Arts of Illinois” will feature 10 panels telling the stories of local artists and musicians and highlighting art forms such as stone carving, the Irish fiddle, Mexican murals and the Irish accordion.

You can catch the exhibits from Oct. 1-Dec. 31 during regular library hours at 1915 W. 35th St.

The exhibit is curated by Lisa Rathje and Clark "Bucky" Halker, of Chicago-based Company of Folk.
