Police Warn of Englewood Burglaries

ENGLEWOOD — Police issued a community alert Tuesday detailing a string of burglaries that have hit Englewood in the past few weeks.

Four of the six burglaries listed in the notice occurred in the 700 blocks of West 71st Street and West 73rd Street, from Sept. 14-18.

The other burglaries occurred in the 7000 block of South Union Avenue on Aug. 25, and in the 7200 block of South Halsted Street on Sept. 2, according to the alert.

Police say the robberies occurred during all different hours of the day and night.

The alert describes the suspected burglar as a black man, aged 18-22, with braided hair. He is described as between 5 feet and 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and 100-150 pounds.
