UPTOWN/ANDERSONVILLE — The kids are back in school, the leaves are falling... and you're thinking about cleaning, so it must almost be fall.

Don't worry, you're not the only one thinking about cleaning in the neighborhood. Here's a list of things to do this weekend and ways to bond with your neighbors by sprucing up the 'hood:

Saturday

Clean-Up Montrose Beach and Take a Nature Tour: Alliance for the Great Lakes is planning to clean up Montrose Beach and host nature tours Saturday. They ask that those who participate bring "a bucket or plastic bag from home to reduce the event's environmental footprint." Montrose Beach House, just south of the beach at 4400 N. Lake Shore Drive, 9 a.m.-noon.

Sunnyside Mall Cleanup: Meet up at the mall to help install walking paths/stepping stones and mosaics on beacon piers, and take care of the planted pots and painting. RSVP at sunnysidemall@yahoo.com. 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Fall Clean-Up with Buena Park Neighbors: Buena Park Neighbors are meeting at Dollop Coffee to clean up litter and tidy up the neighborhood. After the clean-up, enjoy pizza with your neighbors at Michael's Pizzeria, 4091 N. Broadway. Dollop, 4181 N. Clarendon Ave. 10 a.m.

Buy/Check Out Antiques, Vintage Chicago Memorabilia and Pie (4 kinds): Vintage Garage Chicago will be hanging out in the neighborhood with "anything made in Chicago, has a Chicago vibe to it or is about Chicago or says Chicago on it," from street signs to restaurant menus. This month's theme is Retro Chicago. Pie, Pie My Darling will also be making 6-inch pies: apple, raspberry, chocolate fudge brownie and coconut cream, along with cupcakes, cookies and other treats. $5 Admission. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 5051 N. Broadway.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month: Neighborhood children are invited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with paper arts and crafts with Annie Chu at the Bezazian Branch of the Chicago Public Library. The children will design custom cat sugar skull masks by following step-by-step instructions. All material is provided and children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult. Bezazian Branch, 1226 W. Ainslie St. 11 a.m. Free.

Saturday or Sunday

Check Out the New Exhibit at Swedish American Museum: The new exhibit "Appleton: Portrait of a Swedish Chicago Legacy," is a tribute to Albert Ivar Appleton, "whose family continued his appreciation of the arts." Appleton was the founder of Appleton Electric, which is now a subsidiary of Emerson Electric. Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Be a Foodie or Get Your Drink On: Three long-awaited restaurants/bars opened this week along Clark Street in Andersonville, so make a day of it. Try the Mexican cuisine at Cantina 1910 or head to Elixir Andersonville and Replay Andersonville for arcade games, small plates and cocktails. Cantina 1910, 5025 N. Clark St.; Replay Andersonville, 5358 N. Clark St.
