If you've been waiting for the perfect moment to visit America's newest national monument, well, this is it.
The 42nd Annual Historic Pullman House Tour, a collaboration between the Pullman Civic Organization and the Historic Pullman Foundation, is your chance to take a self-guided walking tour of railroad magnate George Pullman's factory town, which was named a national monument this year.
For $20 in advance (or three bucks more on the day you visit) you'll get to tour eight private homes, including executive mansions, skilled crafstman row houses and workers cottages, along with the Greenstone Church Oct. 10-12.
Local musician Q Kiser and Harmonica Jimmy's Blues Band featuring Mississippi Jerry Jones are set to perform on Saturday. The Mudcats Dixieland Band are on the Sunday bill, which includes a classic car show.
