CHATHAM — High school students can attend a free college fair on Saturday.

The Chesterfield Community Council is hosting the 11th Annual Silas Purnell College Expo from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Tuley Park Field House, 90th Street and King Drive.

Prospective college students will get a chance to meet with representatives from colleges and universities, including historically black colleges and universities. There will seminars on how to find college scholarships, what the freshman experience is like and what to do if stopped by a police officer.

The late Silas Purnell founded the Educational Services Division at Ada S. McKinley Community Services. He is said to have assisted more than 60,000 students with college admissions and scholarships over 40 years.
