SOUTH SHORE — A man died and two others were hurt in a South Shore shooting Wednesday morning, police said.
It was the city's sixth homicide in less than a day.
Around 9:05 a.m., the men were standing in the 2600 block of East 74th Place when someone shot at them, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
One of the men, 25, was brought to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after being shot in his head, Lemmon said.
Another man, 29, was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition after being shot in his chest and twice in his back, Lemmon said.
The third man, 50, was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where he was in good condition with a graze wound in his back, Lemmon said.
No one is in custody, Lemmon said.
