ENGLEWOOD — A 44-year-old Michigan man died after being shot in Englewood Saturday night, officials said.

At 11:05 p.m. Saturday night, a 44-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 6000 block of South Throop Avenue in Englewood when someone jumped out of a black SUV and shot at him, according to Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his hand and his back, Greer said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner identified the man as Adrian Jeffries, of Holland, Mich., who was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. that night.
