LAKEVIEW — Hidden in random spots across the city, five paintings are waiting to be claimed in a weeklong treasure hunt starting Monday.

It's the second year Bottle and Bottega has done the Chicago art hunt, with Lakeview and South Loop locations teaming up. The BYOB painting studios will post clues on both their Facebook pages and email blasts.

"This year, we're being sneakier about it and spreading it out a little more. It could be anything from restaurants and bars to gyms or music venues. There are going to be a wide range of different places to look," said Pamela DeFranco, Bottle and Bottega marketing manager.

The first person to find the painting gets to keep it, along with a voucher for a free class. The studios offer daily classes, where students paint anything from sexy doctors to dragonflies.

Each subsequent clue will be released once the painting before it is discovered, meaning things could go quickly if savvy players are quick to solve the clues.

"The most fun thing for us is just getting people out there looking for something different to do. It takes them on a little more of an adventure than just in our studio," DeFranco said.
