LOGAN SQUARE — A man died after being shot early Thursday morning in Logan Square, police said.

Around 1 a.m., the 23-year-old was sitting in a car in the 2700 block of North Central Park Avenue when a white SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, Estrada said. He had been shot in the chest.

Medical examiners later identified the man as Isaac Acevedo Jr., of the 1400 block of North Lorrell Avenue.

About 10 minutes later, police said a teenager was shot about a mile away in Avondale, also by a person in a white SUV. Police did not say whether they believe the two shootings were related.
