CHINATOWN — A new playground is opening at Sun Yat Sen Park.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 2-4 p.m. Saturday at 251 W. 24th Place. Officials from the City of Chicago, Ping Tom Park Advisory Council and Chicago Park District are expected to attend.

The new playground is part of the city's Chicago Plays! renovation program, the five-year campaign to rebuild, repair and refurbish 300 playgrounds across Chicago launched in 2013.

In 2015, 77 playgrounds will be completed through the program.
