HYDE PARK — There’s one last chance to self-taught artist Gerald Sanders’ paintings of Hyde Park streets, Southern porches and intimate portraits.
“We Are What We See” closes at the Logan Center for the Arts on Aug. 23, but before it does, Sanders will talk about his work one last time for a noon reception on Aug. 22.
Sanders, was born in Arkansas, but taught himself painting in Chicago. He is now a painting teacher himself and the work of three of his students, Evelyn Nabors, Marilyn Stewart and Dora Clarke, are also being shown in the Logan café.
Sanders’ paintings are on display on the second floor the Logan Center, 915 E. 60th St., and the exhibit is free and open to the public.
