BRIDGEPORT — MAKE! Chicago, the neighborhood’s community “maker space,” will hold a Woodworking 101 class Sunday.

Located at 1048 W. 37th St., the studio runs from 12-6 p.m., introducing students to woodworking basics and what it’s like to work in a wood shop.

Students will learn the proper use of several woodworking tools, including the table saw, surface planer, clamps, band saw, stationary sander and palm sander. Class instructors will lecture students on safety, wood species and finishing.

Using their new skills, students will then design and make a cutting board. There are no prerequisites to join class. The cost is $55 per student, and materials are included.
