CHICAGO — Eight people were hurt in shootings since Saturday morning, including two men who were in critical condition, police said.

A 29-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in Humboldt Park Sunday morning, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Two boys, 12 and 15, were shot in West Englewood Saturday evening.

• Most recently, a 19-year-old man was shot in his chest in Belmont Cragin, police said.

At 1:20 a.m., the man was was walking in the 2100 block of N Mulligan Avenue when someone jumped out of a nearby car and shot at him, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Loyola Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and they believe the shooting was gang-related.

• Around 12:40 a.m., a 20-year-old man was walking in the 4800 block of West Walton Street in Austin when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said, with a gunshot wound in his leg.

• About 25 minutes earlier, an 18-year-old man was walking in the 1200 block of South St. Louis Avenue in North Lawndale when someone came out of a nearby gangway and shot him, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said, with a gunshot wound in his head.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and they believe the shooting was gang-related.

• About 9:07 p.m. Saturday evening, a 35-year-old man was shot in his left arm in Englewood, police said.

The man was arguing with someone in the 6200 block of South Carpenter Avenue when the other person pulled out a gun and shot him before fleeing northbound on Carpenter, according to Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene but he refused to go to a hospital, Gaines said.

• Around 6:35 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot while barbecuing with his family in South Chicago, Gaines said.

The man was barbecuing in the 9100 block of South Brandon Avenue when two men rode up on bicycles and shot at him before fleeing northbound, Gaines said.

The man was taken to Christ Memorial Hospital in serious condition, Gaines said, with a gunshot wound in his abdomen.

No one was in custody for the shootings.
