PILSEN — The We Are Hip Hop Youth Festival will bring break dancers, Chicago hip hop artists and more to Pilsen this weekend.
The 10th annual event, which celebrates hip hop culture and local talent while encouraging peace and anti-violence, takes over Dvorak Park from 1-6 p.m. Saturday.
A graffiti battle will take place from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and a break dance battle from 4:50-5:40 p.m.
Chicago talent scheduled to perform includes DJ Illanoiz, Shon Roka, DJ Shon, Konsept the Emcee, Goni Perfect, Chesely Krischelle, Jam One, Kuumba Lynx, Sunnie Storm, Phero, Daryn Alexus, Visual, Saint Millie and The Boy Illinois. A full schedule is available online.
The youth-led event, sponsored by Elevarte Community Studio, is free and open to the public.
