JEFFERSON PARK — Tickets are on sale to hear a biblical scholar will discuss the Shroud of Turin at an event to benefit Our Lady of Victory School in Jefferson Park.

Russ Breault, who has studied the Shroud of Turin for more than 25 years, uses more than 150 images to investigate the shroud, which is a linen cloth bearing the image of a man who appears to have been crucified. Some believe it to be Jesus Christ's burial cloth.

Breault, who has spoken about the shroud all over the world, promises a "dynamic, fast-paced experience" for attendees, organizers said. A replica of the shroud will be displayed.

Tickets to the event scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 19 are $20. The event will take place in the school hall, 4434 N. Laramie Ave. A light dinner will be served, and beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Our Lady of Victory will close after the 2015-16 school year as part of a merger of four Far Northwest Side catholic schools.
